About
Max studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts (Foundation), University of Brighton (BA Hons), and the Slade School of Fine Art, where he was mentored by Andy Pankhurst. He later earned a Post-Graduate qualification in Theatre Directing from Drama Studio London, followed by the National Theatre Directors' Course.
Max was nominated for an Olivier Award and received a five-star review from Michael Billington in The Guardian for his work as a theatre director.
Raised in a family of artists—his father was Head of Scenic Art at the Royal Opera House—Max’s early exposure to the arts deeply influenced his own creative journey. He is particularly drawn to drama, light, and the human form, with his artwork often combining charcoal, acrylic, and oil paints on paper and canvas.
